Refrigerator door closures are by far the largest appliance application for ferrite powder. Many years ago legislation was introduced that stipulated refrigerators must be opened from the inside, with a minimum amount of force, in order to prevent children from becoming trapped inside. The magnetic refrigerator gasket was born.
Hoosier has developed a special powder for refrigerator gaskets. Our extrusion powder can be highly loaded, will extrude and co-extrude well, and remain flexible in many different gasket shapes. As with all of our powders, the magnetic strength remains high even with the air gap between the PVC and the magnetic extrusion.
